Calendar Views

Navigate Day, Week, and Month views with drag-and-drop and keyboard shortcuts.

Three Views for Every Workflow

Planim gives you three calendar views to match how you plan your day, week, or month. Switch between them using the view toggle in the calendar header.

ViewBest ForNavigation
DayFocused daily planning, detailed agendaHorizontal swipe
WeekSprint planning, team coordinationHorizontal swipe
MonthHigh-level overview, spotting conflictsVertical scroll

Each view supports drag-and-drop, event resizing, and real-time updates from your team.

The calendar remembers your preferred view and date position. When you return to the calendar page, you'll pick up right where you left off.

Planim uses scroll-snap navigation inspired by tools like Notion. In Day and Week views, swipe or scroll horizontally to move between days or weeks. In Month view, scroll vertically to glide between months.

Arrow Controls and Today Button

Use the left and right arrows in the calendar header to step one period forward or backward. The Today button instantly jumps back to the current date, no matter how far you've scrolled.

Mini Calendar

The sidebar includes a compact mini calendar. Click any date to jump directly to it. The mini calendar highlights today's date and shows a dot indicator for days that have events.

Scroll-Snap Navigation

Navigation feels native and fluid. Horizontal swipes in Day and Week views snap cleanly to the next period, while Month view scrolls vertically with momentum — just like scrolling a page.

Creating Events with Drag-and-Drop

Click and drag on any empty time slot in the Day or Week view to create a new event. The drag gesture defines the start and end time, and the event form opens pre-filled with your selection.

Click an empty time slot

Position your cursor at the desired start time on the calendar grid.

Drag to set duration

Hold and drag downward to define the event's end time. A preview block shows the time range as you drag.

Fill in event details

Release the mouse to open the event creation form. The start and end times are already set from your drag gesture.

Moving Events

Drag an existing event to a different time slot to reschedule it. In Week view, you can also drag events across days. The change saves automatically.

Resizing Events

Hover over the bottom edge of an event to reveal the resize handle. Drag it up or down to shorten or extend the event duration.

Drag-and-drop works for events you have permission to edit. Events from external synced calendars (Google, Outlook) appear as read-only busy blocks.

The calendar sidebar lets you control exactly what appears on the calendar. Use it to focus on specific teams, people, or categories.

  • Teams — toggle teams on and off to show or hide their events
  • Members — filter by specific workspace members to see their schedules
  • Tags — show only events with certain color-coded tags
  • Search — type a keyword to instantly find events by title

Filters combine together. For example, select the "Design" team and the "Sprint" tag to see only design sprint events.

Open your workspace calendar and try the filters.

Multi-Day Events

Events that span multiple days appear in a dedicated all-day section at the top of Day and Week views. In Month view, multi-day events display as horizontal bars spanning across their date range.

  • All-day events — conferences, holidays, and deadlines without a specific time
  • Multi-day events — events with a start time on one day and end time on another
  • Spanning bars — in Month view, long events visually stretch across days for clarity

Keyboard Navigation

Planim's calendar is fully navigable with the keyboard. This makes it faster to browse dates and manage events without reaching for the mouse.

Accessibility

The calendar is built with accessibility in mind. All events have ARIA labels describing the title, time, and participants. Focus management ensures screen readers can navigate the calendar grid cell by cell. Visual indicators use both color and shape so they remain clear for users with color vision differences.

Example: A Team Lead's Daily Workflow

Here's how a team lead named Alex uses the calendar throughout the day:

Morning (Week view): Alex starts in Week view to see the full picture — team standups, design reviews, and 1-on-1s. The sidebar filters are set to show the "Engineering" team, colored blue.

Midday (Day view): Before a meeting, Alex switches to Day view to check who's available. The detailed hour-by-hour view reveals a gap at 2pm — perfect for a quick sync.

Afternoon (filters): Alex toggles on the "Design" team filter alongside "Engineering" to spot scheduling conflicts between both teams' events this week.

End of day (Month view): A quick switch to Month view shows next week is packed, but the week after has more room for the upcoming sprint planning session.
